About this programme
Humanitarian emergencies place immense pressure on water, sanitation, and hygiene systems, making rapid, coordinated, and life-saving WASH interventions critical. This course equips participants with the practical skills, technical standards, and coordination mechanisms required to plan, implement, and manage effective WASH responses in emergencies and protracted crises.
The course covers emergency WASH needs assessment, rapid response planning, emergency water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion, disease prevention, coordination under the humanitarian cluster system, and transition from emergency response to early recovery. Participants will engage in realistic case studies, simulations, and hands-on exercises aligned with Sphere Standards and humanitarian best practices.
